PDO (Parent's Day Out)
Fairmount Cooperative Preschool offers an extended day program two days a week. It is run and supervised by our teachers. This affordable program runs from 11:30 am - 1:55 pm on Wednesday and Fridays. Children bring their own lunches, have indoor/outdoor play time and participate in crafts and activities. This is an optional activity that you can sign your child up for on the day of your choosing. No need to pre-pay or sign up in advance.
Enrichment Classes
Every month our Enrichment committee schedules and organizing an enrichment activity for the students. These activities range from firefighters to artists and musicians and scientist all sharing their talents with school. The kids of FCCNS get to enjoy time outside of the classroom learning and exploring new things. Librarian Visit: Each class got to enjoy a session with a Cleveland Heights Librarian who read them stories and sang songs with them.
Dino Dig: The Cleveland Museum of Natural History came to FCCNS and gave the kids a hands on experience all about dinosaurs. The students got to feel real fossil, make maps, dig for dinosaur bones and much more!
A Fun Way to Paint: Each class got to take their turn dropping paint off a ladder onto a large canvas and learn about distance, speed and mixing colors!
A Firefighter Visit: All the got to learn about fire safety and see how a fireman looks when he enters your house if there is ever a fire.
Cleveland Metro Parks Visit!: All the classes got to talk about the changes in the weather and our environment happening right now.
School Activities
Holiday Party: December 23 each class performed a song for the families then everyone enjoyed a wonderful brunch. After brunch kids got to make cookies and gingerbread ornaments, followed by a surprise visit from a jolly old man!
Halloween Parade: On Oct 28 all the kids got to parade through the school and collect treats from each of the classrooms and from all the parents!
Pumpkin Carving: October 22 the families of FCCNS will enjoy a fun afternoon of pumpkin carving and Halloween activities.
Parents Coffee: October 20th all parents of FCCNS are welcome to meet for a casual get together to enjoy a cup of coffee at Phoenix Coffee on Lee Rd.
