The Extended Day Enrichment Program is an after-school program that offers our children a science and literature based curriculum exploring a variety of topics, in the spirit of the school’s philosophy—Learning Through Play. Classes take place on Thursdays. Classes are designed in four-week sessions that align with the Fairmount Co-op calendar.
Examples of topics for EDE classes include: Magnets; Solids, Liquids, and Gases; Cool
Concoctions; Chemical Reactions and more.
On a day that your child stays for an Extended Day Enrichment class, your child will need to bring a lunch to school. Please make sure that all lunches provide a balanced and nutritious diet.
A Typical Day’s EDE schedule:
11:30 - 12:00: Large Motor Activities
12:00 - 12:40: Bathroom break and lunch
12:40 - 1:00: Literature based segment of science topic
1:00 -1:50: Small group experiments and exploration of science topic
Extended Day Enrichment classes are divided into two groups depending on enrollment in order to provide more individualized attention. All registered students must be fully potty trained to attend EDE (no pull-ups).
The fee for Extended Day Enrichment courses is $56 for each 4-week session.
