Greetings from your FCP President

Hello FCP Families,

I am very excited about beginning the new school year!  My name is Dan Chludzinski and I am the President of Fairmount Cooperative Preschool and I am looking forward to meeting many of you at our cleaning night on August 18th. Please read through this email to stay in the know as we get ready for the school year.

We still have two openings in our Young 3's class, please spread the word to friends and family so we can fill these spots. You can respond to this email or reach out to Beth Zednik (admin@fairmountcoop.org) if you have any questions.

As you know (or will soon find out) one of the unique aspects of our cooperative preschool is that we parents work together to make our school succeed.

There are 5 responsibilities for all families:

  1. Parent Helping: approximately once a month each family will help in their child's classroom for the day. This includes assisting the teachers, providing a class snack and cleaning at the end of the day. Your Room Parent will create the parent helping schedule for your class.

  2. Cleaning: we have two all school deep cleaning events in August and January, and general cleaning on parent helper days.

  3. Attending Mandatory Meetings: This includes having at least one parent at paperwork turn in and parent orientation.

  4. Fundraising: All families are required to participate in the fall Bike-A-Thon and spring Silent Auction.

  5. Participate on a school committee: More information below!

Committees

Families can fulfill the committee requirement by:

  • Being a room parent

  • Joining the Board of Trustees, or

  • By serving on a committee.

    • Please click on this LINK to see a short summary of each committee and let us know which ones you would be most interested in by 8/18.

    • We will assign each family a committee based on your preferences and if you don't fill out the survey we will assign a committee based on our needs.

    • Only one parent needs to serve on a committee.

Photo Release

We ask all parents to please review this photo release LINK and complete it by the 8/18 paperwork turn on.

Parent Handbook

The 2025-2026 Parent Handbook is available for review under the "Important Documents" section. At the Orientation Meeting on August 28th we will provide physical copies and also ask each family to sign a form saying that they have read through the handbook.

Paperwork

You should have received an email from our Director Beth Zednik, with our calendar, forms and tuition information. Please make sure you have read over all that information and fill out the paperwork to turn in on August 18th.
