Hello Fairmount Cooperative Families,
Hope you all are enjoying your summers so far!
My name is Rachael Abrams and my son Wally will be joining the Young Threes class in the fall. I will also be the new Enrichment Chair this coming year. I just wanted to introduce myself here and let you all know about a few outings that we are planning for Fairmount families to meet up over the summer.
7/28 - Penitentiary Glen Reservation
The first meet up will be on July 28 at Penitentiary Glen Reservation. Families will meet there in the outdoor nature play area between 9:30-10am and play until lunch. There is also an indoor nature center if you want to check it out. For anyone who would like to stay for lunch, bring food and we can picnic together!

8/16 - Brainard Spray Park
The second meetup will be on August 16 at the Brainard Spray Park. Families will meet at the spray park at 10am. There is an $8 entrance fee per person for non-residents and $6 for residents (2 and under are free). They recommend purchasing tickets in advance as they only sell them on their website and not at the door. You can buy them when you arrive through their site on your phone but it may be easier to do it before you come.

To register in advance:
You will create an online account here: https://lyndhurstoh.activityreg.com/
Once you have logged in you will go to "Membership"
Then select "Punch Pass"
Choose "Spray Park Daily Admission" in the drop down menu
Then add it to your cart
You can purchase 1 or 5 passes at a time. If you need less than 5 you will just continue adding one at a time to your cart then check out once you have the right amount
This is a one day pass that you can purchase and use anytime until September 1, 2025
Hopefully you and your families are free to join for one or both of the outings. I will be out of town on 7/28 but Lydia Katzianer (the outgoing Enrichment Chair who planned these fun events) will be there both days.

Family Theatre Event
One other awesome event we wanted to highlight is a play for families by Fairmount Cooperative parent, Eric Coble, that is being performed in the PlayHouse Square Plaza the weekend of July 18. It is a 55-minute play called "The Girl Who Swallowed a Cactus." It's geared towards ages 5+ but it sounds like a lot of fun and great for all ages.
